Currently sitting at my mom's house. Me and the wife left the hospital last night in the middle of a fucking blizzard. Visibility was literally zero. I couldn't even see the hood of my car. I had to find a place to turn around and come back to my mom's. Luckily she lives close. Tow companies, ambulances, fire department were all staying inside until this morning. So anyone that got stuck was on their own in -35f weather. It was really bad.

It's not just audits. There's student placement timetables. And datix forms. And a serious incident investigation for a grade 4 pressure ulcer which deteriorate in the community cos a nurse had a brain fart.

So many bad things.

Not exactly right now, but...
I went to the PFLAG (Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) gathering yesterday evening after the atheist meetup. Of course, they explained that they also include everyone else from the LGBTQ community.

When I got there, I saw a sign at the door that said, "Safe Zone". I sighed. Already I wanted to cry. I walk in, and everyone is so friendly and warm. I volunteered to participate in a parade with them. I'll take pictures!

I'm definitely going back. Definitely.








I don't think people around me notice how hard it is for me to keep it together. I don't think they even know I have been experiencing so much accumulated hardship. I stay cool and breathe in deep. Only one of my buddies occasionally sees me almost give in to exhaustion, but then I swallow it and hold back the tears. AF is my breath of fresh air . Here I can admit I'm struggling to be strong. I can't even cry at home, because I don't want my kids to see that. Anyway, my atheist group has helped me with motivation, and now PFLAG will help, too. I think that a lot of people (not everyone) who stay miserable their whole lives is because they don't get up and go out there to try and find something great. There's resources. Maybe something will happen that my troubles will be fixed and everything will be normal again, but for now I'll just focus on the good things I found.
