Been more or less afk since Sunday down in Barnstaple for a funeral yesterday morning. I've popped in now and again when I could, phone network permitting. Should be back Sunday evening.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Finished the semester with 100% in one course I took, the others A+ except one with A-. Note: 100% counts the same as 90%, it's an A+.

I just finished watching X-Men: Days of Future Past for the first time and thought it was pretty good; I had actually watched X-Men: First Class earlier today. I'm now pondering what other superhero movies that I should catch up on. Live long and prosper.

Just got off the phone with a bigshot quantum theorist who answered all my questions on interpretations of quantum theory and all that in preparation for my talk on wednesday. Very nice!

On the way back from Barnstaple and sitting in a breakdown bay at the side of the M5, waiting for the RAC to give us the all-clear. Basically, we got stuck behind an armed undercover police rolling roadblock and the engine overheated. As we pulled off the motorway, we passed a pack of police cars surrounding a red Audi A3 with all its doors wide open. Got some video coverage before we did, though.

The Audi's been towed, but the police are still around. Just learned that the occupants fled over the fencing and the tracker dogs are after them.

Finally got back to Shell's about ninety minutes ago, had to be picked up by a recovery truck. Car's in dock awaiting a new fan. Just got back home myself and am about to sleep for England.
