Road trip. Stopped for an early dinner - clam chowder, oyster sandwich, and fries. I've been coming to this place for nearly 40 years - I try to stop here whenever I pass through. Used to be a lot more common than now.
This place is over 3 hours from home and I'd almost make the drive just for the sammich.

I have scrubbed 90% of my vinyl siding on the house.
Next time, I will get the pressure washer. Costs the same, and 1/10 of the work. I didn't want to make the 45 minute drive both ways to the nearest rental place. Instead, I subbed in 3 days of scrubbing.

Chilling at the hotel. We're catching the ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria, B.C. first thing in the morning. Breakfast at Willie's when we get there.

After work I weeded the garden a bit, then went shopping.
First and foremost, I needed to get a photocopy of the last page from a piece of music, so that I don't have put down my clarinet, grab the music from under a sheet of Plexiglas (wind protection for outdoor gig on Saturday), flip the music over and put it back under the Plexiglas, then grab my clarinet and resume playing -- all during a 2-bar rest at a rather fast tempo. (makes mental note to have Strong Words with whoever typeset the clarinet parts for that particular score)
Had a nice layover at the mall, with coffee and a bun, and looked at an art exhibit staged by high school students. Lots of great images and ideas from people of all skill levels. I've seen a previous year's exhibit, and make a point of going through the whole thing whenever it's there.
And now supper is done and the photocopy is where it needs to be on the sheet music, and I'm just going to kick back and do nothing in particular for the next hour or so.

Plexiglass is a good idea. I've always used pegs.
With written music, especially orchestral, I've always written out my parts on a manuscript.
I fit the Hallelujah chorus on one page once.
Admittedly the fanfare trumpet piece was limited. :-)

Just driven my first train into Manchester Victoria station (part of the Manchester Arena) since the bombing. Its very quiet and a sombre mood hangs about. I can't see any of the armed police that were promised.
The entrance to the arena where it happened is all boarded up but i can see the shattered glass on the fire doors through the gaps in the wood which pierces that veil of un-realness with major events.

I was going to try and sleep in until 6am. The other half, however, decided that at 4:30 he was going to blow his nose loud enough to wake me up, so here I am, an hour later, still up and still not getting the sleep that I needed.

Waiting for my Meals-On-Wheels meal to be delivered. Today's meal is fish & chips, and I'm starving.
