Spent the evening at the Manitoba Planetarium (monthly meeting of the local Royal Astronomical Society chapter). Learned interesting stuff about the Saros cycle, black hole collisions, and exoplanets, and got to play with the toys in the Science Gallery (laser harp, racing cars, coin-eating gravity well, and chairs that look like giant Lego blocks).

Paying bills, looking at the forums, and thinking about what to do for a workout today.
It's my rest weekend but I go insane if kept inside too long.
I went cycling from 5am to around 7am. I decided to go around the city center of Manchester while it's quiet and because I haven't been out there for a while. The people still loitering around after nightclubbing were still out, I love those people because I used to be one of them. Going from 10pm til 6am. There were more homeless people than I remembered too though, some of them had even got a couple of tents up behind some shops. Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them. Impersonation is treason. 
A bit of gardening -- bought a spading fork to dig down and remove some long-rooted weeds, and it's working like a charm -- and a bit of prep work on a section of hallway that's about to get new flooring.
About to head out to the bookstore for my traditional Saturday night coffee run, followed by a quick grocery run. Been craving roast duck for some reason.
