Found out I won a prize for a photo I took at Niagara Falls a few weeks ago. I took a picture of my kid in front of the Falls in a tshirt with "Pizza My Heart" on it - the logo for our favorite restaurant in Santa Cruz, CA, emailed it to the restaurant and they sent me a gift card. Woot!

Did some preliminary design work on some one-off T-shirt stencils, to commemorate my upcoming trip to view the solar eclipse.

Looking forward to the August long weekend, and unlike the last long weekend I had, I am not going to rent a dumpster and lay waste to the inside of the house with a crowbar.

I am, however, planning to go to a hair salon tomorrow and attempt to lighten my hair all the way to #FFFFFF.  (If I start coughing and muttering something about a twin brother, just give me a cup of tea and tell me to sleep it off.)

In case anyone is curious, I'm in the purple area. I have a shitty phone. Yeah, I know. However, that's the worst part of the storm. There's been some extremely bad lightning here, hail and strong wind gusts of over 60mph. We were told to go to an interior room - like a basement. So what am I doing? Sitting in the living room next to the picture window... lol

I'm chancy like that.

I realized that that radar pic was pretty dull so I decided to take some screen shots to show more detail of what I'm currently in. I'll start out wide then get closer to my own town. I'm in the "Dallastown" or "Red Lion" area.

The last photo is what popped up while I was taking screen shots of the radar system. I thought we were out of the woods, but evidently there is a severe watch in my area and in the next county over until 1am. 

This is a map of the Eastern seaboard of the US to give you a general idea of how huge this storm is. It covers several states going up into Canada.

Well... I've seen quite a light show outside. I'm sure I'll see more in a bit. Hope I can capture some pictures, but my phone is shitty so I doubt it. Maybe I'll get some video though.

Well, I stood out there. On a lightning show scale - nothing near like what it was when we were driving home from the store. That lightning scared the shit out of me. It's the start of August and I was freezing standing out there so no exciting video to show anyone. Did catch a few grumbles of thunder, but nothing to write home about.

Seeing as how I survived the night, I'm now sitting at the mechanics while my car gets its yearly inspection. So far the center brake light is really dim. Barely lights. That's gonna cost $120.00 for the part. Ugh.

Just finished sending some updates on a couple of vessel's I'm working, thus ending a 20-hour work day.

That storm was nasty. The aftermath was not enjoyable as I had to take back country roads to get to my mechanic and trees were down in many places. 

My car managed to pass inspection.. so no repairs for now. Yay! 

Waiting on a friend to get here so we can go to the movies.
