What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
Charger has been found, along with a fully-charged battery. Dead battery is charging, photos have been taken, and I'm doing the first editing run-through in the GIMP Gnu Image Manipulation Program). Just waiting for the official word from daughter, and we're on our way for birthday snackies.

I just finished watching Freedom Writers (2007).  Watching this rekindled the idealism that I had when I was considering getting into teaching.  This movie also reminded me of how much I appreciate those teachers who are passionate about what they do and who actually care about their students and can  make a difference in their lives; it is a gift that I do not possess, but I am certainly in awe of those individuals who are special enough to possess such a marvelous gift.

I'm actually having a bit of an atheistic irony moment - I was thinking I should try head scarves or something that doesn't scream "I have cancer!!" the instant you see it so I was googling some options and found a blog of, I think, a jewish woman doing demo's of different ways to tie head scarves.

So hmm... as an atheist I'm against religiously mandated hair-covering, but on the other hand I have cancer and I don't want my head to be cold because I'm bald...

Also,

FANTASTIC NEWS!!!

I just got a call from my doctor telling me that the results from my imaging last week came in and there is no evidence of metastatic spread in my organs or bones and the only things that showed up on my MRI were the two known tumors and some already suspected enlarged lymph nodes (suspected because I had one biopsied and it was positive)

Also, I shaved part of my head already. Angel  The rest of the hair is going next weekend after I start chemo on Friday.  Be nice to me and I might post some photos Wink

Nervous. Our 2yo is undergoing routine ear surgery tomorrow, and we are horrified by the idea of having to abandon her for an hour. Also, the appointment is really early and we'll get even less sleep than we do anyway.

I seem to remember a piece of memorabilia from Survivor that you had on some photo... would that work?

Looking at the Twitter search results for "gay swastika" concerning this new clothing line.

Wow, that's awesome to hear, CM.

Soooo, what "part" of your head did you shave? Did you do a swirly design on the sides? Or did you shave your name or a meme in there? Don't leave me in suspense! Smile
