Daniel Smith has discontinued their PO49 single pigment quinacridone gold.

: sobbing :

They only have their two pigment replacement mix available on their website now. It's just not the same.

Must make an emergency trip to the art store to buy up the remaining stock.

Despite setting it so Facebook wouldn't send me notifications about my stupid 20th high school reunion, I still saw some shit about it on my timeline because of my friends.  I figured out how to uninvite myself, so yay.  Sorry, but I don't want to pay to go to some shitty local restaurant and watch a group of people I don't remember get drunk.  I'd rather have a kidney stone, and I legit almost died from one a couple years ago.
You must truly hate high school reunions. I've had stones all the time, the only good thing is that once they're out, you get better fast. I had some minor problems with a stent last time I had them.

I have some accounting stuff to finish and send off this afternoon, but then I'm going out for a nice dark-roast coffee somewhere.  Am specifically doing things in that order so that I don't get home and decide to stall on the spreadsheet work.

Dumb question and I know there's a common sense answer, but with so many things being wireless today, and also using the powerline adapters (ip connectivity through the house power cables, etc, why the hassle of rerouting cat5 cables?)

I'll answer for myself- Astreja can have her own reasons. One of my neighbors was quite savvy with computers. He bragged about how fast he could hack WEP encryption. We had all wi-fi for our network at the time. I went and bought a spool of cable, jacks and plugs, and hard wired it all. Hack that, bitch!

It's the main input line from the ISP to my router that got moved, mostly because it used to come upstairs through a surface-mount conduit on the living room wall, and then was stapled along the top of the study wall.  Not exactly an attractive piece of work.  As long as I was doing wiring anyway, it wasn't much more work to hide that wire before redoing the walls.  (I wired the 2nd and 3rd floors with in-the-wall Cat5 a long time ago, and it's doing fine.)

We also have only one wireless device (my Chromebook) but 2 desktop machines with Cat5 adapters on the motherboards.

I tried those powerline adapters....it may be my 70 year old wiring but the performance was lacking - despite claims of megabit speeds - it was agonizingly slow. Wireless spectrum around here is pretty crowded. I do run a wireless bridge between rooms where I haven't yet run CAT6. I just have too many devices for wireless to be a good option house-wide without buying expensive wireless routers.

I legit painted one of the most terrifying things I've ever painted yesterday.

I didn't know I had that kind of horror-producing capability.  I apologize to anyone who will be haunted by those eyes, those glassy, unblinking eyes...

Nice painting!

Baby orang says, in piping voice, "I've come for your soul, give it to me now!".

How about you go and fuck yourself?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
