What's everyone up to right now?

Ralphs down near me (like a Safeway) has TL cake. I had some last week or so and it was pretty good (though I thought it would be more soaked, instead of in a pool of milky stuff).

Thanks, c172, we used to have Ralph's up here but they all closed a few years ago. I'm going to check out the grocery chains and see if they do tres leches. Those sheet cakes just don't compare. -Teresa

Clarinet lesson after work. After the lesson I dropped off my music and instrument at home and went out to buy some binoculars to use in my stargazing adventures.
When I finally got home from the shopping expedition, I made a cup of Vietnamese coffee (not-so-secret ingredient: Sweetened condensed milk). I then noticed a coffee filter I had left on the kitchen counter earlier, a reminder to filter a batch of cold-brew coffee I had prepared yesterday. After filtering out all the grounds I had about a litre of coffee extract in a jug in the fridge -- and three different sets of coffee-making equipment drying in the dish rack (Oriental coffeemaker, cheap nylon basket filter, Melitta pour-over cone filter holder). Luckily I didn't need the vacuum pot, and my AeroPress lives at the office, so I didn't use *all* my coffeemakers. |
