So I'm outta here... gotta get all packed up and ready to go, for the weekend.
If we leave by 3pm, we should get there around 1am. Going to get the gps in my phone set up so I don't have to worry about it as I'll be doing most of the driving.
I think Judge Moore is all played out, but you go for it Joods.

I just finished doing a proof showing that the intersection of an indexed collection of closed intervals [3– x^2,5+x^2] (where each indice x is in the indexed set of real numbers) is equal to the closed interval [3,5]. I used the standard approach of showing that two sets are equal by demonstrating that the first set is a subset of the second set and the second set is a subset of the first set. Thus, for both parts of the proof, I used a proof by contradiction to establish the desired result of the proof. I must admit that taking the negation of the conclusion in each part of the proof (e.g., assuming that one set is not a subset of the other) and making use of various facts about sets, especially some cool facts about the complements of sets (especially unions and intersections of indexed sets), was pretty cool and challenging. With that said, it feels pretty good to be finished with the proof; IMO, it was definitely quite the adventure in the world of ideas/thought.

Reductio ad absurdum proof types are tough to teach to some people. It seemed to elude a lot of kids when I taught Geometry. Looks like you've got it down! I don't do much with math these days, just settle for slaying the Sudoku in the morning paper.

Wrestling with a headache that seems to be getting worse as the night wears on, regardless of how many meds I throw at it.

Just playing some soothing music for my pet dog who was earlier shaking badly from the fireworks. And it bloody works! Hes now fallen asleep ... at a time when he doesnt usually sleep ... and I could leave the room where he is, without him noticing at all.
