What's everyone up to right now?

Setting up my development environment on my laptop. Won't be able to finish until tomorrow.
Figuring out what I'm going to do in Miami.

Well, here's an odd, computer-related story: Last night, I decided to fill in some of the gaps of my music collection that regular internet or my local library cannot fill by ripping the audio from Youtube videos (because the albums in questions don't seem to be readily available otherwise), and I found out that my old standby site no longer actually worked. After trying and failing to find another site, I eventually latched onto this Firefox add-on.
I managed to download five albums' worth of MP3s, but suddenly, to quote Elliot Alderson, "It scratched that part of my mind. The part that doesn't allow good to exist without condition." I mean, even after downloading a couple dozen audio files with the most inconvenient thing about the process being the couple seconds' wait to actually allow each file to be ripped, I found myself wondering about the possibility that I might have to deal with viruses when it was all over. To be fair, I worried about this when the computer demanded I finally update the OS to the Fall Creator's Update a few days ago. Looking at the reviews section, I found there was recently some fuckup in the way they used ads that allowed it to redirect to malware (which is why I've used AdBlock for four years running). Fortunately, it seems that the developer fixed that problem; I saw no ads anyway. I saw no sign of trouble when I was using it this morning, and multiple scans with Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes found nothing untoward, but just to be on the safe side, I decided to disable the add-on when I'm not using it (which isn't very often).

Trimming the steri-strips over my scars- they're starting to be revealed and they look pretty good. I have wickedly dry skin on my chest though.
Busy day tomorrow. Gotta get my shit together before I go back to work on Wednesday. Still crying every day. Going to call my nurse navigator to see if that's a symptom of depression or if my anxiety meds just aren't strong enough. Still debating whether I want to start dating. Maybe I should wait until after I finish radiation which I still don't know 100% whether I'm getting, but I'm like 95% sure I am. Fuck cancer. My life was great before fucking cancer and now I feel adrift.

I saw them, and needed to do some laundry, so I put them in the dryer. One of her articles of clothing came out like something a doll would wear. That got her right tight on finishing the laundry she started. I honestly did not know that there were heat-shrinkable clothes in that load of wash. BoT- I went over to my mother in law's house today (we are renting it out) due to complaints from the tenants about a breaker that pops (and the subpanel gets hot). Needs upgraded to a larger subpanel; the original ain't even close to code. Had to meet the electrician and get an estimate. Almost $7k. I'm glad it ain't my money. The price we're renting it for, the rent so far is mostly paying for repairs on this 65 year old house. ![]() ![]()
