Me too, about your power. Also, I feel your "pain" about what the kids won't learn because of this, unless they get days to make it up. We had (at a private school) all kinds of shit that went on that deprived my students of learning time. The parents paid big money ($9600 a year in the high school, 1996!) for their kids to get educated, but every time I turned around, there was some stupid "festival" or something that interfered. NB- it was a Waldorf school, so they did all kinds of weird shit. Maybe it made their psyches better, or something, but they received less education than they otherwise would have, without that interference.

Staying awake along with most people I know in town. Local prison’s inmates are rioting. It’s crazy. I know people who work there. Also...
they integrated races in there recently. So the speculation is that's the motive. I hope nobody’s hurt. Nobody.

Wishing I could go down to TJ and watch CONCACAF Champions League vs. NY Red Bulls.
Mentally pondering a grocery list.
NPRing (BBCing via NPR, really).
Mentally pondering watching softball sometime this weekend, since tonight didn't work out.

Plotting out an evening of Xtreme Shopping. I need new slacks, hope to pick up some nice winter boots on clearance, and wouldn't mind also snagging a digital bathroom scale on the way to the grocery store.
Trying to figure out the logistics for all of the above, plus crank out some homemade pasta for cooking when I get back from the shops. (Fortunately my stand mixer will do most of the heavy lifting in terms of making the pasta -- I just have to remember to throw flour, eggs and water into it when I get home from work.)

Waiting forr the cleaning lady to leave. Sushi for lunch (from a supermarket. Have a few Doritos as well). Might go watch women's lacrosse later, but it's supposed to shower.

Nah, need to wait to get a place before I can start drinking alcohol again. No beer, though, because too many carbs are not good for me at my age.
