What's everyone up to right now?

Gah! We got like two inches of snow and nothing stuck to the streets. School was on time. We were just a bit to far west to be impacted by this storm. I'm sad now. I was looking forward to driving on the snow.

Just finished slogging through my e-mail -- I'm signed up for an astronomy mailing list, and had to see if among the 14 new messages there was any new astrophotography from the list members. Nope; just 10 "Ooh! Pretty!" replies from the last posted photos, a couple of replies regarding an equipment question, and an invite to a cool-sounding lecture that I can't make because it's on a weekday. Sigh.
Wishing I could go get a burger. But I can't. Nothing but broth, water, and popsicles for today and tomorrow. I'm so weak. It's only 4 pm on the first day, but I'm already dying.
Knowing that I can't eat just makes me want to do so all the more. ![]()
Watching breaking news about a massive gas leak that has shut down a massive freeway in town. This after coming home to a message from the police about the situation. A major mall is shut down as well. FD is bleeding local gas lines to avoid something like the explosion a few years ago in San Bruno that killed several people.

Just finished removing the windrow left by a snowplow as it went scraping down the back alley an hour ago. Fortunately I was downstairs in the dining room, sipping my tea and reading a book, as it thundered by and blocked off my driveway. As I came home on the bus I noticed that the streets east of us had already their alleys done, so I was expecting our street to be next and was keeping an eye out for the plow.
If the plow had arrived at, say, 6:15 instead of 5:00 I would have been hopping mad (and possibly late for band practice). Driveway is clear and there are no more ruts in the alley. Life is good.
Talking with a daughter. She apparently had a great interview for a summer internship she'd like to do. I'm pleased for it's a long way from home.
Other than that I've been uploading paintings. This is my favorite of the new lot. ![]()
