One's a grey and white and the other's a grey tabby.
But are they fat and eat lasagna?

One of the gingers is very fat, but not obsessed with lasagna.

Spent most of the day at the hospital, most of the rest working around the house, and now it's about bedtime at 7pm. Yesterday was about the same + several trips to home depot to get the only toilet in the house up and running.

Dad is stable. The hematoma is not very recent as it turns out. It is not continuing to bleed, and they're going to let his body recover on its own rather than something involving drills. He's being moved out of ICU as they now believe his bleed is not life threatening. That's the good news. His memory loss has become deeper. He kept asking when his wife would be there. She died of lung cancer years ago. He has no memory of any of the events that led up to today. They say it may improved. May. He keep talking about dying. My sister and I are now making his medical decisions for him as he is inarguably incompetent to do so for himself.

Today, there is a lot more hope than yesterday

This is sad to see. Have the doctors checked his kidney function? It can affect a patient's outlook quite a bit.

It's good to hear that your father is out of ICU.  Hopefully you can rest a little easier now.

The end times are tough. Got a POA in place? It's never to early to talk to hospital social work about options.

Putting on a crock pot full of chili. I used a pound of cut up pork and a 1-1/2 lbs. of hamburger this time. Maybe next time I'll use cubed beef instead. We'll see how this turns out. I used Wick Fowler's Two Alarm Chili seasoning this time, because it was cheap and available. I've heard both good and so-so things about it, but the grocery stores and Amazon don't offer much in the way of options beyond McCormick's. There's Carroll Shelby seasoning mix, but it's not particularly cheap. Everything else is difficult to get ahold of or expensive to buy. So I'm hoping this turns out all right. I bought a fresh onion and some fresh jalapenos to add to it later. Hopefully those will help. Overall I'm pleased with how much I can get into the 4.5 quart crock pot. This isn't enough chili to last more than 2-3 meals, but I can fit a decent amount of food in it all the same. If I end up using it a lot, maybe I'll invest in a larger one as a companion to this one. Crock pots are always on sale, so it's not like this will be the last chance to get a large one at a good price. Anyways, I have my fingers crossed.
