It's 2am and I have to be up for work at 6, but the wind is scaring the shit out of me. My window frames are literally bending inwards with every strong gust of wind. I can even feel the wind even though the windows are all bloody closed. Living in the corner flat on the top floor of the building is always bad in this kind of weather, but this is the worst I've ever known it.

Niece and nephew have been put to bed. Their mother was supposed to pick them up today but had car troubles, and of course my brother needed to run back to work on this particular night (although to be fair I would have looked after the kiddos anyway so he could go out).
