Good for you. Not enough people donate blood/plasma/platelets.

Edit: Oops, forgot to play. Surfing during the caffeine lull.

How long does it take to do a plasma donation?  I used to give blood but have had low-normal red blood cells over more recent years, and don't really want to donate whole blood anymore.

Turkey day prep.

Stock for gravy.
Stock for seafood bisque.
Picking crab, peeling deveining shrimp for seafood bisque/spinach, artichoke, seafood dip.
Peeling potatoes.
Cleaning green beans.
Last minute shopping for last minute items.
Drinking RC cola.
(Wishing I didn't give the maid, and the chef off at the same time.)

Having coffee, reading the forums and thinking about the pie I'll be making soon. Procrastination, how I love thee.

I often want to procrastinate, I just never get around to it.

Getting disrespected by Miss "I want to see more respect on the forum" Central. What a hypocritical cunt.

Eager to get out and grab something from the stores before they run out of stock.

Usually takes me about 40 minutes of being hooked up to The machine. But it didn't flow easily today, took 51 minutes.
Blood is much faster. And less unpleasant, though it'd nothing too awfull.

Finally worked up the courage to buy this pedal:

It's a clone of the Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer, which you may know from this song:

(to be honest, there is some dispute as to whether or not Mark Knopfler actually used an Orange Squeezer on this song, but it does the sound well enough.)

After looking through my old copy of Beatles Gear to look up what other effects I could utilise that they did, I remembered their compressors. To be fair, they didn't use pedal compressors, and, if the Potent Pairings articles on Reverb are any indication, the settings they used were a lot higher than are recommended for piezo-equipped guitars like my main axe. Eventually, I settled on the classic Orange Squeezer circuit (which works better with acoustics than the classic DynaComp), and, lo and behold, I found a pedal builder who is not only local, but actually sells these pedals for cheap. Normally, these go for about $80, but I bought this one with a bare box [no text, no design, I guess I'll have to break out the label maker for the identifying information] for $50 (no taxes, no shipping and handling.) I eventually worked up the courage to actually buy the thing. Hopefully, it'll sound pretty good.

And now, to wait for the TC Electronic Echobrain to drop in price so I can see if it's worth making it part of my "board."

At work, on lunch, feelin' a bit like I'm getting sick.

Listening to The Terrible Podcast and eating some soup.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
