Relaxing after finishing up the staining of the wood for the second of two gates I'm making to replace some old ones, and sort of stressing about the paint job on the first gate frame (it's steel), as I'm going to leave it outside to wait for the finish to dry. I didn't want to pick it up and take it into the garage in case the paint wasn't quite dry. It's going to be about 40 degrees F tonight. Meh, I'm not installing it for a couple of days, yet. Hopefully there won't be any dew tonight. As windy and dry as it's been, probably OK.

For that matter, the vinyl won't even need to spin! Scan the whole record with a laser in a few seconds, store in memory buffer and play the whole album.
But the whole point of vinyl aficionados is to remove the DAC out of the process! lol.

That's why one needs to scan it in realtime and extract an analog signal from it!

And, yes, according to what I've been able to find, it's the Vancouver in British Columbia and not the Vancouver in Washington.

Taking it easy in advance of getting on a 10am nonstop to Puerto Vallarta tomorrow.

Along the same lines, our original plan to become expats in 7 years has been accelerated and I'm thinking it's now between 1 and 3 years away. There are a few complications but we are starting the process.

Once I started working from home and realized there's no reason I ever need to go into the office, my proximity to the office no longer matters. I work out of my home in Washington for a international company based in Maine for a business unit headquarted in Florida, with my direct supervisor located in Oregon. I already got buy-in from my Oregon corporate overlord, I'm talking to my Florida overlords about it in a few weeks.

No, it's a little early for that. We have to pick a city first. We're probably going to rent, we might start someplace familiar but I'm really interested in La Paz in Baja Sur - even though I've never been there - for climate and proximity to the Sea of Cortez. I'm thinking of taking a couple weeks later in the year to look around.

Just got home from the ER. Felt bad all weekend but woke up early struggling to breathe. Was worried it was my heart again but turns out an upper respiratory infection I was treated for a few weeks ago had just been beaten back to a slow simmer till it blew up again. Steroids and an inhaler should have me back on my feet again...glad I didn't pass out at the grocery yesterday though I thought I was going to. Ambulance ride and many needles stuck in me - great way to start the week. At least I can breathe again. There will be Netflix and chilling with the pups for me today.
