My cat didn't show up for breakfast this morning.  He's usually the first to show up and let me know it's meal time (there's always dry food out for them).

I wandered the neighbourhood calling him and making sure he wasn't lying dead anywhere.

I called the local vets.

Just after 10.30 he wandered in.

Bad news: I found out while trying to play True Detective Season 1, Episode 6 that the blu-ray player in my room has crapped out. The second I turn it on, the screen goes black.

Good news: We’re getting one of these.

Bad news: Because fuck you, it’s not coming until Thursday.

Good news: Because the library isn’t making the effort to find the movie I reserved for this week’s Deep Hurting Project, Bigger Fatter Liar and because the player’s out of commission, if you’ve been following the Project in the Last Movie You Watched thread, it looks like this will be the perfect time to take on Norm of the North 4: Family Vacation because it’s the last DHP-worthy film left on Netflix.

Well, it looks like I was able to check out Bigger Fatter Liar after all, so expect a review in the Deep Hurting Project later this week.

• The Atlas Shrugged Trilogy, because only Part 2 has an available copy at this point.
  
• The Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure, because it's likely in a state of long-term limbo that only the library actually reopening for full-on visits will rectify, at least if the fact that I've had it on hold for about two months and I still haven't gotten it despite there allegedly being two copies readily available.
  
• Littlest Light on the Christmas Tree, because it's not Christmas yet, and even in saner times, the Christmas movies would only be available starting in November.

Well, the Blu-Ray player I ordered is being delayed, so Dad's currently weighing options.

The bathroom in my house was renovated by my then brother in law - as I was working too much overtime - and he needed the work. 

He did a shitty job.  He installed the plumbing as such that when the faucet failed in the tub - it was impossible to get at it for repair. The lazy fuck.

I am chopping the tub and enclosure up with a sawzall....

Time to re-do the whole bathroom - and do it right...

Well, since the delivery of the Sony BDP-S3700 has been delayed, Dad decided to do what probably should have been done in the first place and try and find one in person. And it turns out he got the same model. I managed to set it up and it's now playing the same Blu-Ray that I'd been planning on playing on the previous one before it went bust two days ago: True Detective, Season 1, Disc 2, Episode 6.

I'm 35, it's 10.35 on a Saturday night, and I'm sitting on the couch in my underroos watching Scrubs and playing "let's knock stuff off the table" with my cat.

The question is, do I slit my wrists now or wait until after the weekend?
