RE: What's everyone up to right now?

I also work the overnight shift. Wink
I work from 11pm to 7am, so morning drinking for me is like night drinking for others.

Aaah, I see - not so bad then, that's a relief.  Great

I worked the night shift for ages in security - the management decided to "mix it up" week in week out so we flipped from days to nights every week - man the adjustments zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! etc.

Yes, I understand that we don't know each other that well, but it would make me sad to learn that you no longer exist. I enjoy knowing you exist.

There are many things I'm not telling people.

No, I'm not going anywhere.  I'm making plans for personal reasons.

I'm not planning on killing myself.  Tried that.  Would have succeeded too, if it weren't for that meddler.

Thanks for the answer, you didn't owe me anything.  Blush

Going out to get my mail.  Cool

Just checked on my Monarch caterpillars. I emptied their frass tray and gave them fresh milkweed leaves. I noticed a few more chrysalides at the top of the cage.  Great

My cat didn't show up for breakfast this morning. He's usually the first to show up and let me know it's meal time (there's always dry food out for them).

I wandered the neighbourhood calling him and making sure he wasn't lying dead anywhere.

I called the local vets.

Just after 10.30 he wandered in.

Little prick!

Well, the MASH and Joker masks haven't come in yet, and there's not even any tracking info on either of them (for reasons that may or may not be related to Trump fucking with the Post Office's ability to do their jobs so he can sabotage mail by vote and win a second term the only way feasible for him at this point). That said, I've still decided to get one more:

[Image: il_340x270.2332972586_c4yk.jpg?version=0]

Why? Because this latest rash has been spurred on by Dad telling me about a store that featured Joker and Hannibal masks which were A: overpriced, and B: Surprisingly, didn't actually feature a Hannibal mask. And somehow, despite only ordering it last night, I've still got more information on its progress than the other two.

Also, yesterday, I was intrigued by a small copper telescoping straw at Half-Price Books. I had been wondering about the awkwardness of trying to drink from my water bottle while wearing a mask. I had normally been waiting until I was in a fairly isolated area, then nudging the bottom edge of the mask up, and taking a sip. But what if all I needed to do was just open up the bottle, extend the straw, poke it into my mask area, and drink? So, I bought it, along with The Other Paris, The Hawkline Monster, and Cold in July. Unfortunately, I found a couple major design flaws:
1) It was only about 9 1/2 inches long at the most. This was just a bit shorter than the length of the bottle.
2) Neither of the two ends fit in the drinking hole. This might have been improvable if one of the ends could be screwed on and off, but it's not.
3) It turns out my plan is kind of a big safety no-no for metal straws.
