Dad and I have finally gotten around to painting the ukulele. And we’ve painted it the colours of blood. At least, as close to the colours of blood as we can get with stains we could pick Up in local stores.

I toyed with paint (especially since it was easier to find paints with hex values Known to be close to my blood than stains), but, while I could Find some paints with hex values close to my blood (Hell, Fender’s Dakota Red is extremely close to fresh blood with a delta E of 2.092), they weren’t readily available. And Dad eventually sold me on stain. And to see the way the stain looks, it’s easy to forget it’s just basswood. Except maybe if you’re looking into the soundhole and your eyes aren’t drawn to the spillage that looks like blood spatter.
