When we moved to my dad's hometown we moved into an older home.  Dad fussed and cussed every time he tried to do any repairs or renovations and often complained that not a damn thing was square.  My parents bought the house from the man who originally built it...as in, he was the builder.  Drove my dad nuts.

This place was built by at least 7 guys. That's how many additions there are.

What are the odds? Apparently not one of those idiots owned a square or a level.....

Dad added the first addition so that wasn't the issue.  But being the son of a man who was a master carpenter in Germany he had been taught the right way.  By the time the house was sold dad had at least hidden or corrected most of the flaws.

Guess who finally got his mail-in ballot today?



And, funny thing about living where I do; voting blue no matter who is really fucking easy because, of all the 25 positions being contested, exactly five of them have a Republican running. While I’m unsure if photographing the blank ballot is legal or not (though, since the Post Office is okay with photographing the unopened envelopes, it looks like my photo of that is in the clear), the Cook County Clerk’s Office has a sample ballot essentially identical to the one I got online just So you can see for yourself.

Also, I was kinda thrown for a loop by the new envelope closure. I repeatedly tried to lick what looked like a normal envelope closure and failed. Then it turned out that what I tried to lick was backing for live adhesive.

Should have covered that bar code at the bottom, too! When we get mail mis-delivered and return it to the pO, it comes back because of that bar code. We mark it out with a black ink pen.

Uhm yeah, that bar code can be scraped by someone skilled enough to do it. Some mod better censor that for security reasons or whatnot.

Took a new photo with the original envelope. The slip with my dox on it (which I had covered with a pen) had been removed, and I covered that bar code at the bottom with my pen. So, you may want to fix that copy of my original image, @Fireball.

Went up to the library for this week’s videos since I’ll have to be under quarantine from late Tuesday morning when I have a pre-op COVID test until first thing Friday morning when I have my Septoplasty and turbinate reduction. For the record, trawling TVTropes’ So Bad It’s Horrible/Film pages, it looks like I found one more horrible film worthy of the Deep Hurting Project in the library’s collection before it heads into the Heretofore uncharted waters of Amazon Prime Video: Ouija.
