Remember my experiments with mug cake a few weeks ago? I found a simple recipe that actually works properly: The 3-2-1 Mug Cake recipe.

1. Mix two boxes of cake mix in a large bowl or Ziploc bag. Whatever one of them is is up to you (I personally used Red Velvet), but the second one is not; it must be angel food cake.
2. Combine 3 tbsp of mix with 2 tbsp of water. Or Maybe 4 1/2 tbsp of mix with 3 tbsp of water, since that's the size I'm used to.
3. Microwave for one minute.

And what you have actually works. Admittedly, the taste of the Red Velvet cake is a bit diluted by the angel Food cake, but it still tastes good and leaves no mess. Hell, it doesn't even stick to the sides of the mug. And given that A) the mixes combined are about 836 grams, and B) the total size of mix used for the 4.5 tsp version was 48 grams, that's enough for Seventeen Mugs' worth. I don't recall the prices for each box of cake mix used since I had Dad pick those up yesterday (I'm going to estimate a ballpark figure of $3 per mix box), but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it's almost certainly cheaper, pound for pound, than the prepackaged mixes I had been using ($3-4 for a pack of four.) And now to look for a proper container for the remaining unwettened mix beyond just the mixing bowl with a plastic cover over it.
