Sorry for that bit of news. One only gets one mom.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

Starting on my second pot of coffee. I usually limit myself to one pot of caffeinated, but not today.

Wrote a letter to the boss (and a note to my primary care physician) about my cough situation. Neither has recieved a reply yet. Oh, well.

Also, I think I've mentioned I have a column on Anglotopia. While checking to see if Jonathan's gotten around to updating the site since Boxing Day (he hasn't), I found this new comment in my article about how Chris Rea's "Driving Home for Christmas" is trending in light of new COVID restrictions (and my admittedly limited push to make it the Christmas No. 1):
Quote:It made to No 11. LadBaby got his third Christmas No 1. And what the hell is that, straight in at No5?
The song straight in at No. 5:

I should mention that Anglotopia has a strict ban on talking about politics (glad I have this forum). Personally, I tend to avoid talking about politicians post-Nixon (with the possible exception of the Royal Family; I find that this cutoff point is usually safe to avoid huge controversies in the comments section), and on the extremely rare occasion that I do (the number of times I've done so over 1000 posts and eight years can be counted on one hand), I tend to err on the side of not even referring to them by name. So, here was my response:

Quote:Something I'm not touching with a 20-meter pole.

To be fair, he's at least a bit more competent and less actively malevolent than Donald Trump, even if those are extremely low bars to clear.

We're back in Mexico, to furnish our apartment in Vallarta. We've only been gone 3 weeks but I missed it, warts and all.

Morning coffee. I have to return my cable box today, then it's off to donate blood plasma.
