What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
*starts to look up "surprise definition" to get the right synonym for my story*

*Google autosuggestions starts to list things right at "surprise de"*

*one of the listed suggestions is "surprise dentist"*

*changes my mind; nope, I don't want to know what that is*

But guess who's an "essential worker"?

That’s what happens when we’re lucky enough to have a PM who takes this shit seriously - 1 case of Delta variant = 3 days of lockdown.

Something I've always dreaded is being the person who must make the decision between saving livelihoods and lives.
Is there a balance somewhere in the middle or is that just giving up on lives and treating them as collateral damage?

It's not an either/or thing. Prior to the pandemic, our unemployment rate was 4.6%  It's currently 4.0%.

We seem to be fairly good at controlling the spread of infectious disease while managing not to destroy peoples' livelihoods.

Hmm...how do you keep the strings tight on that poor dog?  Hehe

Yeah, I'm feeling a little silly tonight.  Wacky
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

MY voice is sort of back and I decided to power through and go back to work, but that's only meant that my voice is still shit enough the boss suggested I speak as little as possible. Fortunately, I found a mini speaker near the computer, and I plugged my iPhone into it. I succeeded in using my speech synth app. One of my coworkers was interested enough that he asked if he could use the app I was using. Unfortunately, I use an iPhone and the other guy had an Android phone and "Spokesperson" isn't on Android.

Hope NZ doesn't go the way of that germ ridden cesspool "NSW" "hehe"
.. You know things are serious when Bunnings closes in NSW! (from Monday)
Anyway, I just wanted to say that the unemployment rate is lower now because people have given up on even looking for work!
