I just thought of an excellent monkey paw scenario.......someone meets a genie, and wishes for unlimited money, but this person is devoutly religious, and doesn't like to swear, and for every time he/she says the word "fuck", he/she will receive $1.......so as long as he/she can keep saying the word "fuck", he/she will have unlimited money, but swearing makes him/her guilty.

Watching the midday news. I transcribed a chili recipe from an America's Test Kitchen video. I pulled the spices, but I need to do some prep in the kitchen first.

Watching baseball. I just started my chili in the slow cooker. I used stew meat instead of ground beef. I hope it comes out reasonably tender. Due to time I had to use high setting.

Got the dog back from the vet, $800 for teeth cleaning. Given that some had to be extracted and under anesthesia yet, I guess that's not too bad. Except for the dog, of course. She's still stoned and hasn't had a lot of water yet, so that doesn't help. Poor thing. She hates any medical personnel, so it was quite the trial to get her sedated. Tranquilizers before we took her there, a muzzle once she was calm enough. She was still scared when she got the shot to make her woozy, and screaming at the vet. We suspect that she was mistreated in the past.

Watching our governor tell us that we don't need mask of vaccine mandates in one breath while in the next he's stating we have a hospital staffing shortage and the fix is recruiting workers with the enticement that you don't need to be vaccinated, or have passed your boards, or be current on your continuing education,.......

I'm so proud.
