What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
Just got the path report back on Nico, not septic arthritis, it was a non neoplastic fibroadnexal hamartoma.

Cooking rice for chili on rice. Watching the news and waiting for the baseball game.

It's 10-07 Tuesday 19 Oct.

@brewer

I don't know about the ailment you describe. Is it good news? Don't quite understand about septic arthritis, but it sounds nasty. I have osteo arthritis in knees, elbows and hands, and that's more than enough with which to cope. Doctor tells me I'll need knee replacements eventually.. With any luck I'll die before that becomes necessary.

On Today's busy schedule:

Just went out for a drive to buy some paints. I buy budget acrylic @ $2.50 for 75ml. Perfectly fine for the stuff I produce. They didn't bloody have what I wanted. So I went to the local aircraft hanger called a "Hardware Warehouse' and bought a new mop. It's all go around here I can tell you. Right now I'm psyching myself up to mop the kitchen floor. I hate housework. Consequently I seldom do any. A bit of dusting when the dust bunnies begin to look scary.

Petrol has reached $1.69 a litre, which is about $US2.50 a gallon. What is the current US price of petrol?

Yep, good news. Septic arthritis is most often a bacterial infection, (can also be mycobacteria, virus or fungus) in a joint space, very hard to treat and it can spread to the bones, other surrounding tissue and blood stream. What he had is basically a benign sebascious tumor associated with hair follicles. Once the amputation site has healed he should be good, but that will be a slow process. He's been on long term steroids for an inflammatory gut condition.
Gasoline where I live is around $3.15/gallon. I'm sure the prices are higher in the coasts.

Just set up camp in Carlsbad.

Camping has become rediculously expensive the farther south we go, and apparently if you show up to a state camping facility without a reservation, you can't just pay for a site, you have to use the online portal, with a convenience fee of $8 of course.

If we had bypassed LA we could have easily made it to Yuma today, so it's Yuma tomorrow instead. Though if we had, we wouldn't be having a Langer's pastrami and rye right now.

This is dog, not a person?  If a dog, how old? That sounds like a multi-thousand dollar procedure.  I've been lucky so far. I've had my last three dogs put down, two were 13 and developed incurable cancers , one was 17 and had a stroke.  Infuriates me that we can't do that with our own lives.

You're telling me that your petrol is more expensive than it is in Australia? WOW, I'm stunned!.  Does that mean Americans are over their belief in their god given right to cheap fuel? Here small cars have become more popular than ever. I have a Mazda 2 jellybean, 1400cc. A tank of fuel lasts around 6 weeks. I bought it new on on 4 march 2019. So far it's done 9,200 odd km.

Yes, dog, Nico, 11yo/m, definitely a geriatric for his breed. So far the bill is around $2500 but we have pet insurance so our oop is about $500.

The fuel cost is covid related, god given supply and demand.
