But still make him sit in the back seat.
Strapping him to the roof would have been more in line with my way of thinking.
Left home before 11 - back home at almost 5. I was damn close with my estimate of a six hour ordeal.
Nothing like sitting in your car staring at a building across the street in a questionable part of the town for nearly three hours. There was no way in hell I was going anywhere we drove by for something to eat or drink or even for a restroom break...nope - not doin' it. You at least invested in some Depends, right? I can't hold a pee that long!

A couple people at the site took pity on me and let me come in to use the facilities.
To give you an idea how bad the neighborhood was...there was an armed deputy at the door. Not a rent-a-cop but an actual sworn officer. I rolled the windows down on my car enough to not get claustrophic, hid my purse, and locked the doors. I was too on guard to sleep or read.

The new year is here, not really feeling like celebrating. My great aunt passed away in her sleep at 99. She oitlived all of her children.
My wife is also ill, we're assuming it's COVID for now, and have an appointment to get her tested on Sunday. I think it's safe to say that if she's positive, I am also infected but asymptomatic so far. She was one of the first to get boosted back in August, crossing my fingers that it doesn't get worse.

My condolences.
Stay safe and be well.

I was feeling a little depressed, lonely, and bored this afternoon, so I called my parents.
My father said, "Genocide is not the answer!"
Well, Dad, you're wrong it depends on the question.
And the question is, "what will entertain Beccs in the new year?"

Your great aunt was Betty White?
You two are not having the best health season. Hope it's not another trip to the states. Get well.

Had a stomach ache last night so I went to bed early. If I feel okay today I'll open the bottle of Korbel and have a remembrance of 2021.

My condolences on the loss.
I know you and Ms. Jackalope have been vaccinated. I hope that means a mild run.

Recovering from my Moderna booster. I slept most of the day yesterday, but I'm at about 85% right now.
