I ordered something from Amazon on 24 February, which was supposed to be delivered the next day. I want to make it clear that at no point did I ask for the refund or complain to Amazon in any way.

A couple months ago I ordered some things from Bath and Body Works. They aren't exactly speedy when it comes to delivery. My package was being tracked by the carrier and then went missing. I did contact the company and asked for either a replacement or a refund. They gave me both??????? Then the lost package arrived. I may have to open a little shop for hand soaps and wallflower refills.
I ain't mad.
I ordered a container from Amazon to keep dog food in. I got two...one nested in the other one. I called and was said I was happy to keep both and they could charge me for the second one. The CSR said I would have to contact another department for that. I was TRYING to give them more money for their error but was going to have to work for it. So, yeah, one has parrot and wild bird seed in it now and the other one, dog food.
Same thing happened with my wife and a Harry and David christmas gift for her mom.
She didn't eat the fruit that came 3 weeks after the replacement delivery.

Got plans for the funeral. Up on Thursday, Wake on Friday, Funeral, burial, luncheon, and going down on Saturday. And I'm apparently one of the pallbearers. And since my Modafinil dosage is now authorised to go from 1/2 pill per day to 1 pill per day, going to the funeral in the morning will likely be easier than it has been for me.

Oof. Sorry about your grandmother.

She'd been less than well for a few years, on oxygen for over a decade, and with a couple health scares where she was convinced she was going to die. And this time, the doctors agreed with her.

And Dad's back is acting up and it's starting to look like we might not be able to make it to Grandma's funeral. On the one hand, I'd really wanted to get back to Kaukauna for her big sendoff, but on the other hand, well, I'm not sure how well I'd be able to do it, especially given that the funeral starts at 8:30 AM and my circadians are notoriously fucked. And I have yet to get the hang of taking a full Modafinil pill per day; just this morning, I attempted to take one and I accidentally took one of my allergy meds by mistake. I didn't realise my error until about noon. Indeed, in the last few days, I've been getting mixed results.

Went to the post office to mail a quilt to an old friend. I sent her one a couple months ago because she said she really liked it when I posted a picture on FB. The other night I got a message from her saying that her husband uses the quilt every night while they are watching TV and she was hoping to someday be able to use it, so I sent her one just like it so they can have his and hers quilts.

Dad has been going through some back and neck pain in the past few days that made us wonder if we'll be able to make it to Wisconsin for the funeral. And as a result of an emergency appointment with a masseuse, he appears to be good to go for tomorrow. On the one hand, it's only right that I try and help give Grandma a proper send-off. On the other hand, I don't know how functional I can even be at the early hours I'm supposed to be up. Hopefully, the upped dosage of modafinil that's been authorised for me will help, but I'm not certain.

In Phoenix visiting my stepmom after 2 years of covid. She seems fine for 90yo on the surface but after having a heart to heart with her health care workers there are some definite behavior/dementia issues that need to be addressed. From all indications it's evident that she is taking advantage of/abusing the staff. I'm not sure how much is entitled self-centered behavior (which she has always had - a huge need to be the center of attention, getting her way and a major dose of superiority) or the beginnings of dementia or a combination of both.
I leave tomorrow but can see an extended return trip in my future.
Side note: her hording has gotten out of control.
