It looks like Grandma's going to die after all. I may have to go up to Wisconsin for the funeral tomorrow and stay up there until question mark.

The situation's been very chaotic. Less than a week ago, we were told that she was going into hospice care, not because she was necessarily dying, but because that was the only way she could get the level of care she needed. Then yesterday, we get told that she is extremely close to death, but then, by the night, she was doing a lot better, but then I wake up and Dad tells me that her oxygen level is below 50 when it should be at least 95. We just had a FaceTime with her and Grandpa, and when we finally saw her, frankly, she looked like a piece of chewed gum with a curly wig on it. She was apparently somewhat conscious through the morphine and tried to speak, but only what sounded like a death rattle came out. Dad told me that I should tell her it was unfortunate that we didn't come up to see her much in the past two years, what with the plague and all, and I could only get through saying it by averting my eyes.
Some people still think just because you have autism, you can't feel emotions like neurotypical people do. I fucking wish that were the case.

Having a beer while my wife and mother shop at the outdoor market.
Testing the speed of one of my SSDs, I discovered that two SSDs hooked up with USB 3.0 were performing worse than hard disks. Something strange going on with that USB hub.

But given her condition, it's not likely to be very long before she does. I just want it to be over. For me, my dad, and her.
