Considering whether or not it's time to let my puppies out of the house and off the deck to deal with whatever is killing my chickens. They're already bigger than any of my previous (all deceased) dogs...but they haven't had any practice or training yet. The alternative is we (as in, we humans) take turns up all night to get a shot. I closed all the access doors last night, and whatever it is made a hell of an attempt to get in even so. There are scratches all over the doors and chutes and verticals.

I think it's a bobcat, this time, but I was half awake when I saw whatever it was I saw (the puppies woke me up). I've been doing this for awhile, but I've never shaken the sense of guilt when I consider a bunch of cubs in a hole waiting for a mommy that will never return to come back with food. I want to track her back and get rid of them too. Nice and tidy.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I'm guessing that genetics, life style and family history are giving me about 10 to 15 more years.

Husband is actually several years younger than I am.  His insurance through work is a better deal and I get to keep my doctors.

Cradle robber, I would have never guessed.

Wait, Maybe I need to talk to your hubby. There may be ulterior motives.

Interesting encounter this morning. Stopped at the gas station and was approached by a guy with a tray of small loaves of banana bread or something. He shoves a credit card reader in my face and says he's raising money for some church's assistance program for battered women and their kids. Adds that most people just make a donation and don't take the bread.

I stepped back - guy needs a lesson on personal space - and said that I grew up in an abusive family and I do donate to a women's shelter but am not going to donate through a church.

He looked as though I had reached out and slapped him.

Fucking douche...using church affiliation as a selling point. This is why I seldom leave my house.

Recently got a VPN so Dad and I could try and watch BBC iPlayer's footage of Glastonbury. Unfortunately, it looks like iPlayer can see through that trick. That said, it does work for Netflix. As I write this, I'm sitting in my bedroom on Chicago's North Shore suburbs, but as far as Netflix is concerned, I'm somewhere in Melbourne so I can watch Good Time because fuck those arbitrary region restrictions. I've sent Dad a link to uNoGS and I hope this ends up being enough of a reason for him to not pull the plug on it.

Update: the VPN is still at the mercy of my router's temperamental nature. If the router decides it wants me to switch between bands for whatever reason, that's liable to throw off the VPN for several minutes. You may think you're linked to a server in Australia, but Netflix is still showing the British version and won't let you see the Australia-exclusive movie you were trying to watch, at least until it decides it's randomly going to work properly now.

Apparently, in Europe, people who smoke pot usually just mix the cannabis with tobacco. Admittedly, this may just be something that happens in the Eastern Bloc, but it’s a plot point in the latest chapter of Joe vs. Elan School.

Just finished ordering next week's groceries online. Thank goodness for curbside pickup.  Great
