I didn't do anything for Cinco de Mayo this year. I usually go to the Mexican quarter in St. Paul and drink and eat, but I just spaced it this year.

Met one of my grad school classmates that was in town yesterday, hadn't seen each other in 40 years.

I didn't realize that it was Cinco de Mayo until a guy in a truck forum posted a jar of mayo in a sink. It would appear that I have legendary skills in avoiding the TV.

Most of the employees who work at the company where I do are Hispanic...most from Mexico though some are from other Central American countries. It's hard to miss around here which is why I didn't get any Tex-Mex food today...too crowded with people going for the margaritas on the cheap.

Perhaps this might be a surprise, but 5 de Mayo is not generally celebrated here in Mexico. It's just another day.
