Watching Harley and Zig chase a squirrel and hoping they don't catch it.

I hate having to pry a dead or dying squirrel out of a spaniel's jaws. ICK!

The other day one of them caught one and laid it on the sidewalk where it's tail kept fluttering in the breeze. I had to shove Zig back into the house as he wanted to stay there and admire his catch. When he plants his big ole feet, he is nearly impossible to budge.

Drinking coffee and relaxing. I had a $25 buyer's reward credit that had to be used by June, so I've been on the lookout for something to buy at Best Buy that cost more than $25. They've got a year of MS 365 Personal with a free $30 gift card today. I've been paying $8 a month for it just to use the cloud storage that comes with it for some time now. So I got $96 of cloud storage for $50 and a free $30 gift card.

I know how you feel about the dead things your spaniels collect. I've had mice here recently. I set out glue traps and caught three mice. Two of them were still kicking when I went to service the traps.

We get some rather healthy sized mice in the fall and winter...Texas mice, I suppose.  They move into the garage which wouldn't be so bad except that if there are dog snacks or bird seed out there, they move in and call all their friends.  Husband has had to play executioner when traps simply trapped.  He hates that.  But if I have to kill spiders for him, he has to remove rodents, be they dead or alive, for me.

The weird thing is that there were two big mice and one small one. I'd seen the small one around but had no idea there were big ones floating around.

Setting up my HDHomeRun TV tuner box that I bought off Ebay. There were similar ones for half of what I paid for this one, but this one has a feature the inexpensive ones don't (hardware compression). I just quickly hooked it up to test it. It seems to work as it should. This is the foundation of a system to view/record/replay over-the-air TV from any TV in the apartment, but there's a good bit of work left to do before I get it to that point.

I hooked up my new TV tuner box that broadcasts the TV to apps on my TVs or computer. I became convinced at first that people's lips were out of synch with the audio, so now I keep staring at people's lips when they're speaking to try to determine whether the sound is out of synch or whether I'm just imagining it and driving myself nuts obsessing about it. About the only thing I want out of the system is a DVR so that I can time shift the nightly news, so it's not like I need high quality with flawless synching and such, but it's got me bugged.

I'm batting 1000 in my effort to get nothing done today. I notice my medical provider had added something to my chart this morning. So I go looking for information and find it says that I owe $20 for a dental checkup that should have been covered by insurance. On top of that, I can't find the form that I had them fill out during the visit which was necessary for me to get the $25 in gift cards from my insurer for getting an annual checkup. Panic sets in. I got a second copy of the form filled out by them, and allegedly their billing department can straighten this out after I talk to them, but it has made for an exciting morning. Too exciting.

Sent my doctor a message asking for another round of antibiotic as I still haven't quite kicked whatever it was that has been trying to kill me. She has already sent in a new flavor of antibiotic. I really like her.
