Finished testing my hard disks. I had anticipated it taking 4-5 days. By hooking all eight up at once, I finished in 24 hours.
Speaking of dish soap pumps, I just use a recycled bottle from a softsoap container. I've got two small containers for dish soap. My homemaker doesn't use them. She uses the hoarking 52-ounce bottle instead.

Watching baseball and pondering whether to return the second bag of Target brand coffee. It's okay coffee, but it has no character or distinguishing notes which makes it a little dull. I've got half a tub of fresh basil pesto that cost $6 that I can return at the same time -- it basically had very little flavor and not a hint of nuttiness. The crap I bought at Aldi for $2 tasted better.

The first of my light therapy lamps arrived yesterday. Hooking it up, the cable was a bit short of what I needed. But once upon a time the dollar store had 72" cables and so I stocked up. And as luck would have it, I had one in white, the same as the cable that came with it. Just turning it on I get a charge of energy without having sat for more than a few seconds. I think this is going to end up having been a good decision.

Oh darn. They didn't have the 20-pound bag of rice at the store, so it's being shipped to me instead. And I wanted to see whether they'd lug that all up to the third floor.

adjusting the pole mount for my home weather station. It is mounted on a satellite dish arm on the ridge of my roof. The roofs of the houses on the street are basically the same height, and there is a park across the street. a 4 foot pole sticking up above the ridge of the roof is rather conspicuous form anywhere in the park, as is the fact that it was somewhat slanted.
My weather station is connected to the manufacturer’s website, through which a registered user can query the readings from every home weather station of the same make whose owner have chosen to share.. It turns out this model of weather station is quite popular, there are 14 of them within a 2 mile radius circle that would enclose the town of 40,000 I live in.
It is interesting that at night, my weather stations reads a consistent SSE wind direction. This is consistent with wind direction forecasts from weather.com. Everyone other home weather station shows wind directions that boxes the compass throughout the night. I assume this is because I took the trouble to mount the weather station above my roof where it is likely to be exposed to bulk airflow imposed by general weather and not local currents the eddies imposed by obstructions like houses, fences and trees.

I think the Walmart delivery person is taking a smoke break. First it was estimated to arrive at 11:12.... then 11:15..... then 11:17.....

Hunting ants. A dense stream of ants have marched from the front yard, across the patio, under the front door, past the entry way, into the kitchen, up the counter and are taking away some food accidentally left there overnight bit by bit.
