Waiting for the components for my new PC build to arrive. I picked up an inexpensive Win11 mini pc from Amazon and got it set up on Monday. On Wednesday my main pc up and freakin' died, making me really glad I pulled the trigger on the web surfer. Pretty sure it's just the MoBo, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna waste any money on obsolete AM4 technology. Still, 5 years was a pretty good run for a budget build built on the skeleton of a previous build. This time I had a little more resources and am building a solid, if not breath-taking, gaming rig. AMD Ryzen 9, 64 Gig of 6400Mhz DDR5 RAM and an Nvidia 4070 GPU. I'm still dithering about dual boot with Linux and Win10 or a dedicated Linux machine with the web surfer taking up windows tasks. I'm leaning toward the dedicated Linux machine since my most demanding Windows application, AutoCAD, is already installed and running well on the little one.

About to head downstairs for a late breakfast and some reading, and then I'm going to continue on a renovation project (replacing an old plaster ceiling over a stairwell with a wood slat one).  Currently pulling out the last of the old nails, and then new insulation is going up.

My phone company's data network was down for an hour. You have to use phone or text at least once a month to retain service. So of course I was fearing the worst.
