What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
The company that I've used for free phone service for the past 5-10 years is winding down, so I'll either need to find another service provider or go with some other alternative. There's a cheap service that only costs a few dollars a month for 120 minutes of calling, but setup is rather technical. Or I suppose I could give up the landline. I hardly use it.

What service?

I'm still using magicJack.

You'd need a VOIP device to use the service. It's Callcentric.com . I already have a device. Magic Jack yearly isn't much more. Callcentric is $2 for 120 minutes, cheapest plan. I'd stick with Magicjack.

I have an Obama phone so I don't actually need a landline. It's just a convenience. I hate using cell phones for phone calls.

I have bone-in chicken thighs for dinner. I was going to try my hand at deboning them before cooking, but I'm not up to it today. So I went to Aldi's because I was bored. They had bone-in thighs at 50% off. So I picked up a couple packages. I'll have a second chance to try my hand at deboning chicken thighs.

Had to deal with a dryer that hasn't worked properly (timer and heater didn't work consistently) for about a month. The repairman finally came, and it turned out that the problem was that exhaust pipe was crushed.

This made my brain go all kinds of sideways.

I mentioned a few weeks ago about my renewed interest in claiming my Lithuanian citizenship. Well, my sister received the last of the documents that prove my ggfather was a citizen during the pre-WW2 period of independence. We already have documents proving our lineage, his voyage from the Russian Empire to here and entry into the USA and later repatriation. Census, birth, immigration, death records, ships manifests, we have them all now, more than we need. We have to have some documents translated and apostilled, then we can submit the lot of it and wait.

It was weird to me, too, but, then again, before the guy discovered it, somehow, they decided it might be an issue with the lint trap that somehow caused it to fuck up like this, even though it’s never done that before, and I’m sure I cleaned it out multiple times while the dryer failed.

Listening to the rain and thunder that Quinn thought I should wake up for. He does not do well with thunder and needs a support human in times such as this.
