Glad to hear it, Kit. Fever is nothing to sneeze at.
This new ice maker is not as quiet as my previous ice maker, but for now I'm going to stand pat. Because my apartment is a handicap apartment, the bathroom is large enough for wheelchair use, so it's honking big. Even though I've got my bicycle in there, there's still room that I could put the ice maker in there if I value quiet over convenience. But overall it's not much louder than the tower fans that I have running constantly as well.

I was hoping that the ice makers made by NewAir might be their own design, but looking at the manual, it's the same design. Same with another brand. I knew that there were only a limited number of manufacturers and that most ice makers are just rebranded versions, but I had hoped there was more than one manufacturer in the market. For this style of ice maker, that appears not to be the case. There's a different style that makes so-called nugget ice, which sounds different from bullet ice, but the ones sold by GE are 2-3 times as expensive as this kind. If I can evaluate an actual working machine, that might be something to look into. Otherwise it's a mighty big gamble. Actually there are some under $300, which isn't bad. Probably not any quieter though. It would be a real hassle to buy one and find out that I preferred the one that I have now.
Aldi sells purified water by the gallon for $1.50. That's one issue with the last ice maker -- there's a lot of mineral buildup with using tap water. I probably use about a 1/2 gallon to a gallon a day, so it's not unreasonable. I'm going to clean this one a lot more frequently than the last one, but I suspect using tap water will still be problematic.
I should do my exercise. But I'd rather drink more coffee and sit.
I'm one step closer to claiming Lithuanian citizenship - all is in order except one document isn't translated and apostilled to their liking. They didn't tell me which document is the problem, of course. The good news is that the issue is purely technical, there doesn't appear to be any problem with the claim itself.

Ordering Starbucks' Sumatra and Caribou's Mahogany blend. I was disappointed with Lunds' Colombian, but I think the grind is off. I've got some whole bean Costa Rica to play with my current grinder.
