Trying to find some of the motivation I had a little while ago that got me on a window cleaning spree. Apparently I used it all up.

Finally got to fix what seems to be my last impediment to getting SSI. It shouldn’t be too long before I actually get money.

I just got word that our benefit manager has submitted recommendations for my disability accomodations request, and I'll be contacted by HR "soon" to learn what (if anything) will be done.

The big issue at this point has to do with the fact that Congress hasn’t updated the asset cap for disability since within a week of my birth (and I’m 35 now). I’m a pretty thrifty person (who also had the luck of A: having a Dad willing to take care of the lowest tier Maslovian needs and the associated costs, and B: benefiting from the sale of my late Grandma’s home years ago), so, for the longest time, I had more than that. When it became clear that I needed to downsize that, Dad took the bulk of that money and put it in a trust.
And, naturally, the SSA saw this and made an issue about it and it took over a month to resolve, especially since Dad does not want to commit fraud. We ended up sacrificing the prospect of back pay (I don’t even know how much that would even be when the asset cap is $2000) , and hopefully I actually get some inflow soon. For the record, my issues are autism spectrum disorder (which I’ve had from birth, naturally) and a pretty fucked circadian rhythm (something I’ve been dealing with for the better part of a decade, but has only gotten worse in all this time.)
