90-degree heat. My air conditioner quit a couple of days ago. Repair or replacement is covered by Medicaid, but the organization that manages my Medicaid waiver has been non-responsive for six months. So it will take some time even under a best case scenario. I recently learned that I can request to have my waiver handled by a different company, but that would likely add additional time, so I'll start with them and give them until the end of the week to take action.

And I received a letter from the county that says that they haven't received my recertification paperwork. The only problem is, they received it three weeks ago, and even their automated helpline acknowledges that it has been received. So I'm going to have to spend a half day running to the county offices only to be greeted with a shrug.

Opening all the windows. The temperature is expected to drop about 15 degrees overnight.

Having an iced coffee. Between having my kitchen cabinets' contents piled on folding tables in the living room, for fear they'd come to spray for bugs again, three months of depression, and a week in the hospital, my apartment was quite a sight. I received notice that management was going to accompany the recovery team inspecting the water damage from the flooding while I was in the hospital, so I stayed up all night getting the kitchen cabinets sorted and the apartment clean. For all that, management didn't actually accompany them. But I already had the one citation for a lease violation for when they entered my unit while I was in the hospital. I'm tired, but now things are finally sorted. Save for the broken air conditioner.

My own sleep schedule is pretty well fucked. Painkillers are making me sleep when I shouldn’t.

Fun times around here with sleep. My sleep schedule (if you can even call it that) is further fucked up by husband starting night shift last night for the first time in nearly 20 years. He, the dogs, and I are all messed up with that...it's gonna take a while to adapt.

This morning was pitiful. The dogs usually hang out in my office while I work in the morning. Husband went upstairs to sleep and locked the gate so the dogs couldn't get upstairs with him. Every time I walked out of my office, there was one sorrowful little face with muzzle stuffed through the gate...when there weren't two or three looking as abused and neglected as possible.

Ordered another gate so they can join me in the office again.
