Doing laundry. I'm staffing a booth for the MN Atheists at the Pride festival this weekend for a couple of hours. I figured that I'd go all out and wear a clean shirt.

Yesterday, I informed all of my clients (11 at the moment) via email that their commissions would be delayed. Checked my email this morning and based on their profanity-laced responses, told seven of them that their commissions are cancelled and I will be returning their deposits.

Most jobs would be great were it not for people.

People keep asking me why I don't sell the quilts I make.  It's simple...I want to do what I want to do.  I don't want to be on someone else's schedule.  And I don't want to hear any complaints.  If you get a quilt from me, it's a gift - end of transaction.

I have a woodworker friend (much more skilled than I am) who feels exactly the same way about his craft. He says that people always tell him, ‘You could make SO much money with this!’ and he always replies, ‘I already have SO much money. If I turned my hobby into a business, I’d hate it.
