As do I - it's the poor communications from the gate crew that really grinds my gears.

I went back to Menard's and got a second 40" Pelonis tower fan. I've got two tower fans in the living room that are half working and could stand to be replaced. One is a dirty and noisy 32" Lasko and the other is a 42" Lasko that ceased oscillating sometime next year. It's not a must that I replace them, but at $40 they're a steal and I can find other uses for the towers that are only half working, like in the bedroom where I'm not as picky. And if my air conditioner doesn't get fixed, the extra fans will come in handy. There's no sense spending a lot of money on bulky air movers like box or pedestal fans when their size will be a negative once the A/C is fixed. Target dropped the price on Lasko box fans to $20 if I need additional fans this summer. If I wait until the half working fans fail, I'll spend a lot more than $40 each replacing them.

I guess I won't be taking my blood pressure tonight. My doctor keeps telling me to take it regularly while I'm recovering and I keep forgetting. My blood pressure cuff uses four AAA batteries. I used my last AAA in my Chromecast remote earlier this week. I thought about buying a large pack when I was at Menard's, but none of them were on sale, so I figured it could wait. It didn't take long.

Amazon had a 100-pack of Varta AAA alkaline batteries for $15. They're not as well reviewed as the ACDelco I was going to buy, but they've got a 10-year shelf life and have a fair reputation, so I figured that I'd try them. Most AAA uses I have are in low-drain devices like TV remote controls, so a 100-pack should last a long while.

Putting together one of the fans that I bought. It makes a high-pitched whirring on its highest setting, but the two lower settings put out enough air that the high setting isn't really needed. It works well as a replacement for the noisy fan in the living room, but I'm not sure the second fan will be as suitable as a replacement for the other living room fan. My main goal today was just to make sure that I got a good, working fan, at least one of the two. I will probably return the second fan, given how noisy it is on its highest setting.

Woohoo! I got my property tax refund. A whole $753. I almost gave up on it when the form wasn't calculating it like it should. Good thing I noticed my error before giving up.

Washing dishes. I bought a set of six 10.75" square plates. I like them, though not as much as what they're replacing, but they are slick and heavy, making washing them tricky.
