Reconsidered my SSD purchase. There was a slightly better Orico SSD for $5 more. So I switched to that. Then I found out the SK Hynix P41 was on sale at Newegg for $20 more. The P41 is older, but it's not a DRAM-less design, so it's more suitable for a system drive than the Orico. Not that I've settled on using it that way, but it's future proofed in that way, where the Orico wasn't.
In the process I ended up applying for a Paypal Mastercard. There was something about $50 cash back, but I haven't seen a sign of that yet. Not that it matters. I've got the money to pay up front, unlike the Amazon orders which were 6 months interest free.

*sigh* The SK Hynix P41s had a firmware bug that went unresolved for years. They released new firmware several months ago, but reports are mixed -- some say it fixes the issue, some say it doesn't.
Maybe I should spend the extra money for a Samsung 990 Pro.

Still fighting a migraine that woke me up about four hours ago. Going to keep trying to sleep my way through it.

Resetting my computer to the way it was on the 19th. Something in firefox got corrupted on the 25th, and I mangled the desktop folder properties yesterday, so I figured I'd just unwind the most recent changes. I only back up once a week, so I had to go back to the 19th, as my last backup was on the 25th. I had intended to boot my imaging program from a flash drive, but that wasn't working, so I crossed my fingers and chose to restart into my backup program from the system drive. Thankfully that worked. It was a bit wreckless since there were less risky alternatives I could have tried first. Anyway, I went to the store because it was taking forever, and when I returned, a clean boot of Windows from July 19th greeted me. I was very relieved. I may want to increase the frequency of system backups. And I'll need to figure out why booting from a flash drive wasn't working. Whatever. I'd rather be shopping.

Practicing wood carving. I’m unable to work at the forge or in the wood shop right now, and this is one of the few crafty things I can do sitting down.

Picked up my new fish spatula tonight. It's super nice. Thin and light, and just about the perfect length. I think I'll still get the Oxo fish spatula as well. It's only $16 and it's a long spatula, for longer fillets.

I like to watch sitcoms in the background while I work on my art. Currently watching Brooklyn 99, Hot in Cleveland and How I met Your Mother.

Up early this morning for no particular reason. Drinking iced coffee and taking my pills. A new blend of coffee this morning, Seattle's Best Organic 6th Street Bistro. It's a tad bitter, but for cheap coffee it's not bad.
