Trying to adjust to not having access to my laptop for a week. I actually managed to connect Lumosity on my iPad to the account on my laptop (a surprisingly difficult task), and even had to burn the CD of Blood Incantation’s Absolute Everywhere that I got from (and need to return soon to) the library to Dad’s laptop and then an SD card.

Also, I ordered some string tie beads from AliExpress and they came today. Alas, they’re too small for what I planned to use them for.





Saved myself $30 on a set of strings that wouldn’t have fit.

Figuring out how to subscribe to Youku.tv.

My options appear to be Google Pay or AliPay. I can get a year's subscription half off if I pay all at once. That's $30 for a year, which is okay. I pay a lot more for my Viki subscription for Korean dramas.

I spent an hour trying to compile drivers for a WiFi dongle for Ubuntu Linux, only to discover that I didn't need to do so, the dongle was already working.

Got a clip-on fish-eye lens in the mail.

My primary file store on my desktop is running hot. I'm guessing the front fan isn't turning. I need to redo some of the internals, adding some disks and a high speed ethernet card. I'll see about replacing it when I get around to doing that. For the time being, the main store's disks are running at about 50 C.

Found out that Jerry Springer was buried in my hometown. I visited his grave.
