What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
Figured out a couple of things regarding crossflashing the disk adapter (HBA) that I'm working on. There's a specific utility that all the guides advise to run to reassign the address of the adapter back to the original. Unfortunately, It won't run in any of the environments that I've tried. Two key points that I just learned. One, it doesn't need to be run preceding flashing the firmware, so apparently it isn't used to change the firmware itself. And two, it's a specific version that was released with firmware version p19 and is reputed to be more stable than that released with version p20. If all else fails, I should be able to accomplish the task with the p20 version, but I appear to have a p19 version for an EFI shell environment. So, this should work.

Wendigoon has received permission to upload Apocalypse Now to his channel. I am currently watching the premiere. I've watched it dozens of times, but I'm watching it now all the same.

Edit: It's the theatrical cut, BTB.

I ordered a white photography screen so I could make some better looking photos of my doomerig in my basement. In hindsight, perhaps a 1.5x2m screen is a bit small, but it at least worked for what it was. Although, of course, I think swapping out some 2700K bulbs for 5000K also helped a lot.

And if you’re wondering about what’s on the amp:

Because I had a lot of empty real estate on the cab and a few pedals that A) belonged at the end of the chain, B) could only be powered by external adaptors, and C) are always on anyway.

And that’s enough to create a guitar sound with about as much power as a pipe organ.

I created my first functional SMB share in TrueNAS. It took a few tries to get it right, but it finally works.

Back at work.

It's all rather inconvenient.

Putting up a run of conduit to run copper and fiber to the other side of the house. What a pain. The end goal is to have the tech stuff in a rack in the office/studio.

I find it curiously coincidental that I've been "randomly" selected for secondary inspection by TSA both times since participating in a protest. I flew dozens of times last year and never experienced that.

Relaxing. I've got one more part to pick up before I start my PC building in earnest.

Yeaj, that's my guess at this point, although I was fairly careful to show less face, and more finger. I fly again next week, as they say, the third time is enemy action.
