Checking my building management's rent portal website to make sure all charges for August were paid. This is the first month that I've used it. It's very convenient.

Doing dishes. Since I spent yesterday in bed, I felt a need to do something productive today.

Completely by accident, we've found ourselves in Switzerland during a national holiday weekend (Swiss National Day). Street food, music, beverages and all.

We were walking around town this morning and retreated to our hotel when a short storm blew through. At that time the streets were nearly empty. Took a bit of a nap and went out to forage for dinner, and there's thousands of people on the main street partying it up.

Come to think of it, this may explain why even the modest hotels in town are outrageously expensive right now.

Waiting a couple of hours for a train connection owing to an hour delay from a track blockage on the famously punctual Swiss rail service. We missed our connection to Köln, which makes it impossible to make our connection to Amsterdam. We found an alternate route that still gets us there tonight.

Another late train caused us to miss our connection in Dusseldorf - but we're back on track (lol) to Arnhem and Amsterdam. What was on the schedule as a relatively easy 12 hour journey turned into 16 hours on 2 buses and 5 trains.
