Finished the cleaning. That was the grossest thing ever. Never keep a bookcase on a windowsill. Ugh.
I expected to find loads of spiders when I lifted the thing to take it outside, but there were only two. One little one, and one fresh from a nightmare. It wasn't big, but it had a big round body and little legs, I've never seen spider like that in my life! I had a hoover hose in my hand, turned on and ready to hoover up any spider that might have been there, but when I saw that wee beastie I just screamed and throw down everything I was holding and tried to run away backwards and nearly fell over my poor Henry Hoover.... Then I went back and hoovered the little fucker up but I was shaking like mad. Stupid animals... How dare they try to live in my home without my permission!

They do help you with other flying bugs, so you could get them to sign a contract and provide them with a roof over their heads while they keep the place (relatively) free of insects. ;)

I don't get many flying insects in here anyway, I get so many wasps outside that I have these net things on my windows attached with velcro so nothing can fly in when I open them. A few wasps still manage to get in through vents or something (spotted one in my bathroom when I was in the shower yesterday morning and I think I broke the world speed record for jumping out the shower, grabbing a towel and running away) but I don't remember the last time a fly got in. I don't think flies tend to fly this high, tbh.


I just had a yummy dinner of roasties, Yorkshires, carrots, broccoli, baby corn and sugar snap peas with veggie gravy.
For dessert I'm going to try this vegan "ice cream" I've been reading about online. I have chopped up bananas in the freezer, and apparently if I run them through the food processor the result is very similar to ice cream, only totally good for you. Well, I plan to add either Nutella, toffee, or Caramelised Biscuit Spread, so it won't be particularly healthy, but it will still be one of my 5 a day and it's healthier than real ice cream!

Playing with some pics I took yesterday...and seeing how they look as avatars. The avatar I've had up is recent, but it's kind of sad that I like it best, seeing I'm making a funny face and all. What does this mean, that I look better making a funny face than a serious one? Hmmm...

I have beer, and antihistamines and ideas, and emails. I've just either played a blinder which will earn me professional plaudits for my maverick, bold and imaginative creativity or I've just pissed off several of the most important experts in my field with a barely coherent drunken emails on sunday night.

Fuck I hope its the first thing. If not I'm not going to be invited to speak at conferences EVER AGAIN!

Draw a marquee around the space you want to stretch, E)dit, T)ransform, S)cale. Sometimes that leaves a pale line where the image "stretched apart"; when that happens, I just dupe the layer and stretch the top layer, leaving the original to patch any separation.
