I wasn't surprised about Tyrion killing Shae and his dad. In the books, he shot him once in the pelvis on the shitter, and his bowels loosened. Tyrion says "well, at last, Tywin Lannister doesn't shit gold." Great line, no clue why they changed it.
Also, Cersei never tells Tywin about her and Jaime. And Tyrion and Jaime have an epic fight when Jaime frees Tyrion. It's about the trick that Tywin played on Tyrion when he was in love with the girl Tysha as a kid. Jaime tells Tyrion that she really was a grainer's daughter, and not a whore like Tywin said. She really was in love with Tyrion; Tywin had all the men in Casterly Rock rape her and made Tyrion go last. Tyrion goes into a rage at this, tries to hurt Jaime, and this informs his rage in killing his father. Why the show omitted this, I do not know.
Lastly, Varys doesn't go with Tyrion in the books. I'm interested to see where this goes as far as Tyrion's storyline and his.
I am interested as to how they are going to do book 4. It has a lot of storylines that stray away from the main ones. Book 4 is almost solely in new places with new characters. It'll be interesting. A lot of plot, not a lot of action.
You really should read the books. They are SO excellent.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

As a book reader, I can only advise you one thing:
Read if you really want to.
I really want to, the problem is that I have a hard time finding the books compelling. I don't know why. I've tried several times to read the books and even got GOT on audiobook and found that I would tune it out as I listened so I never retained any of the story. The only reason I could follow where I was when I started the audiobook was because I had a good grasp of the first season of the show.
Meh, they'll have to wait, I think. I started two new books in the last two days (one for work and one for bedtime) and have about ten more that I own but haven't read yet.

Dammit, I can't remember Jaime freeing Tyrion in the books!!
I can only remember Tyrion and Varys.... as they pass under the tower of the hand and Tyrion gets an idea...
It's been too long... gotta read them again!!! OH no!!!
Really, as all great books, they're worth it, but beware of the confusion that may ensue in your head!

I don't have a problem with movies or shows that change from the books their based on; they're different mediums and what works in a book won't always translate to compelling film.
ION, I realized in my morning trolling for GIFS that my parent's new neighbor bears an uncanny resemblance to David Hasselhoff.

These past two days I've received an interesting but incredibly aggravating professional lesson on what happens when different parties try to improve a situation that really didn't need improving. When I went to bed Sunday night, things with an incoming cargo vessel were apparently settled and sensible. I awoke yesterday to a clusterfuck I'm still trying to sort out. Thanks, folks!
I went to an atheist group meeting for the first time in person. It was awesome! Other atheists really do exist! I shook their hands!

So I stumbled onto this part of YouTube somehow I watching a horror movie and wound up here. Anyway I'm actually curious about the contents of this video and I wondering if someone with working eyeballs might be able to translate for pretty please with glitter and sprinkles on top?

Sorry love. I know only very basic signs. This is way too hard.
