What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
Just back from a birthday dinner out.

Skip revenge, legal or otherwise, and transcend the situation - combat injustice with wisdom and understanding. If that doesn't work - do it legally.

The ShaMan is wise.

In the end I settled for part threatening legal action, part understanding and accepting a compromise.

Enough parity has been restored. It would be unhealthy to pursue it any-more.

Playing with my new tablet computer. New computers are fun. They're so snappy and responsive.

Thank you! My family did well by me.

Waiting for the potatoes to boil. Pork ribs, mash potatoes and steamed vegis for dinner.

Just on my way back from Shell's. Got stuck in traffic on the journey up this morning, then found out there'd been a nasty accident further up the road and police had completely locked down both sides for about a mile in either direction. It's a busy main road at the best of times; turns out that the car at the head of the queue of traffic had pulled up sharply at the streetlights and a guy on a motorbike just behind smacked into the back of the car, flew right over the roof, and hit the road right into oncoming traffic. A second car ran right over him.

Apparently he was trapped for an hour while fire crews tried to release him with airbags, then paramedics rushed him straight to one of the air ambulances that had set down in the nearby park and flew him to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, where the last I heard he was still fighting for his life. The girl in the first car suffered minor injuries. The bike is a total write off.

What upset me most in all this, which always gets to me, is the thought that everyone involved was having a normal, ordinary day right up to that point. Then suddenly it becomes a horror movie.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
