This kid of mine has had to do it on her own (THANKYOU HECCS loan) and battling a most disruptive grandparent (my own father- armhole that he is Angry. ) and she gets there in the end!

I'm up. My MacBook is on the beginning stages of taking the final dive. 7 years is long enough. I went out and bought a $250 tweener laptop. Fucking windows 8 is so shitty. So I partitioned the hard drive giving windows 25GB. The other 475GB are for Ubuntu Linux. Which I am using. And it is so lightweight and aesthetically pleasing. I bought this laptop so I could have something while I save for a new Macbook, but if it lasts, I might keep it.

I am pleasantly surprised. I haven't used Ubuntu for quite some time, and it was good then. It's great now. And free. And you get a free new updated version once a year. And nerds don't write viruses and malware for linux, because it's what they use. I like it a lot.

Bad news that my trusty old macbook is about to die. Good news that my interim laptop might be a little more long term than I thought.
