How is it different than just picking a team and rooting for them for the season? And where does the money come in? There's money involved, right? ![]()

Fantasy sports are like Bingo games for people who wouldn't be caught dead playing Bingo.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Well done. Nope. No betting involved, usually. As with any past time, you could turn it into a betting game, but I don't. Fantasy football is where you take turns picking players from any NFL team---a QB, 2/3 WRs, 2/3 RBs, a Tight End, a kicker, and a Defense. Then you play each week against another person's selected team. You get points based on how many yards, touchdowns, interceptions, sacks, fumbles, etc. The skill is in selecting who to play every week, and who to select in the draft.
