3. How pussy whipped can you get before you qualify for mercy killing?

Fuck, I need football to start!

Money is usually involved, but it doesn't have to be. Fantasy sports are like Bingo games for people who wouldn't be caught dead playing Bingo.

... that explained nothing. Tongue

Then you play each week against another person's selected team. You get points based on how many yards, touchdowns, interceptions, sacks, fumbles, etc. The skill is in selecting who to play every week, and who to select in the draft.

So the fantasy part is making up your own team of all the players in the league? And you get points for their stats... What if both "teams" being played have the same quarterback? Do you both get the points, or do you have to "redraft?"

Checked my book's ranking this morning: around seven hundred thousand on the best seller list.

Check it just now: one hundred and ninety thousand.

Once a player is drafted, no one else can have him (though most fantasy leagues allow teams to trade players). That's what makes the draft fun since you have to prioritize based on your position needs and which players are still available.

So no -- you and Luckie can't both have Manning.

You're catching on. Wink

For any fantasy sport, a group of people create "teams" that are stocked via a draft of some kind (which prevents players from being selected by more than one team). These teams are paired off against each other in the same way that pro sports leagues schedule the real games. The statistical value of the performances of the individual players are plugged into one or more formulas to produce a point total that is compared to that of the other team, so that at the end of the day a winner can be declared.

Some leagues use an auction-style draft where the participants are allotted a specific dollar amount to 'spend' on players. This can add some complexity to the league, and for many players it is this complexity that makes it so appealing. Deciding how much to "pay" a player, or how a trade might affect the team's "salary cap" and so on, can be more fun for them than the actual wins and losses.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
