I just watched the video for the mile world record, which is 3:43.13 set by the Moroccan runner Hicham El Guerrouj in 1999 at the Golden Gala track and field event in Italy .

You have my sincere sympathies. Having navigated the 405/101 interchange altogether too many times, I can safely say that if I were forced to choose between driving your route and walking through Hell, I'd have to flip a coin.
As for myself, just finished prepping my mom's place for the tail-end of the hurricane, which expected to slap us around a little. My own place is already battened-down, except for my woodpile under the trailer.
They're saying four to six inches of rain, with spots possibly catching ten inches. Mom lives in a culvert but it has excellent drainage, and I live on high ground less than half-a-mile away from the Pedernales Canyon, which runs about 80' deep around these parts. The storm is expected to be more rain than wind, which suits our conditions well.
I hope any Gulf Coasters reading this are boarded up and heading for high ground -- and Mooney, I don't know where in Austin you live, but do be careful -- this will be a hell of a lot more than a gully-washer. By the way, I was in your bank yesterday doing the deposit for my store, but I guess you were on break.

Mr CL is at a social event tonight that I didn't want to go to. Kind of annoyed that he went and left me alone on a Friday night. He's already gone all the time as it is....

I've just been watching Hannity on Fox, just for a laugh.
We don't have ridiculous shows like that here.
In the end, it starts to become a little scary that America has so many 'out of touch with reality' people.
You atheists really do have an uphill battle there.
